WHAT IS MORNING STAR DEVELOPMENT?
Morning Star Development is a non-profit community and economic development organization
committed to help the people of Afghanistan rebuild their country and their lives by offering practical hope and resources. We focus on bringing transformational change to the people of Afghanistan through sustainable economic and community development initiatives in the areas of health care, education, agriculture and small business development. We work through strategic partnerships to advance initiatives that improve the quality of life for Afghan people and provide opportunities for local capacity building.We serve the people of Afghanistan in four key roles:

| Consultant to the Government of Afghanistan and our partners, providing guidance, resources and technical expertise in sustainable development initiatives in health care, education, agriculture and small business development. Morning Star Development works closely with local village elders as well as high ranking government officials. Our access to the nation’s leadership allows abundant opportunities to share counsel and wisdom with key decision makers; |
| Transformational businesses and Local Capacity Building through holistic, community development initiatives. Morning Star hires Afghans to spearhead our programs in country and these leaders in turn employ other Afghans, providing opportunities for employment, training, partnership and sustainable transformation of communities. |
Morning Star’s success stems from its innovative entrepreneurial approach
that brokers strategic partnerships between Afghan leaders, government officials, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and other non-governmental organizations. These synergistic partnerships allow us to accomplish what no single organization can do on its own.Morning Star Development’s strategy of accomplishing our mission in Afghanistan is based on our record of mobilizing people, material and financial resources to assist the Afghan people in rebuilding their country.
We are a catalyst to many organizations and assist them in being involved in this process. We work as a resource partner to the various government ministries, such as the Ministry of Public Health, to assist them in accomplishing their mandate.
We work as a consultant to those who want to be involved and to the Afghan government officials who are looking for help. One way this is expressed is in recruiting and placing key professionals from the west to work along side of their Afghan counterparts to coach, mentor and guide them as they move forward.
Morning Star Development is an entrepreneurial group organized to facilitate strategic involvement between those who are motivated to work with the nation of Afghanistan and the Afghans who desire their help. Our mission is accomplished by many groups working together in unity to do what no single group could ever hope to complete alone.
We have been involved for several years with many of the Afghan leaders who now hold key positions in the government. Morning Star’s comparative advantage stems from the depth of trust in our relationships with Afghan leaders and our commitment to be strategic by impacting the entire nation with transformational initiatives verses just focusing on projects in certain sectors.
We differ from many other organizations in that all our sustainable initiatives are led and operated by Afghans. We work in partnership with local officials so they can be successful.
