Written Directions from Dubai to Flat 719 in Khalid Plaza These are the most up-to-date and accurate directions to get here from the Dubai Airport. Sharjah and Dubai are under constant road construction. Thus, directions can change without any prior notice to residents. Keep a pictorial map to Khalid Plaza handy. It's easy to locate Khalid Plaza when you are on Jamal Abdul Nasser Street in Sharjah. Your taxi can drop you directly in front of the main door to Khalid Plaza. If you use the pictures and give basic directions to the driver of the taxi, you're sure to be successful. Brief and Current Directions from Dubai are as follows: 1. Dubai to Sharjah on Al Wadha Road. Al Wahda Road is also known as Al Ittihad Road as you leave Dubai. 2. Exit to the Right on Al Khan / Al Majaz Exit (and cross the bridge). You will pass under a bridge, exit to the right, and go up a ramp which will take you over the same bridge that crosses Al Wadha Road. Important: Make sure your driver doesn't pass the Al Khan / Al Majaz exit.] 3. Exit to the right to Al Majaz 1 and 2 which is Jamal Abdul Nasser Road 4. After a few blocks, Al Majaz Park will be on your left. 5. You must make a U-turn immediately after you reach Al Majaz Park. When you reach Al Majaz Park (prior to your U-turn), you have just passed Khalid Plaza, the Marino (Kitchen Appliance Store), an Internet Café, Small Grocery, and Pizza Land on the left side of the road. 6. Khalid Plaza has its name written above the main door. The Marino Store is on the ground floor of Khalid Plaza. Pizza Land is in the building next to Khalid Plaza. 7. Exit your taxi at the main door. Pay the driver exactly what is on the meter. A tip is not expected by taxi drivers in the UAE. (Your taxi from the airport also has a high surcharge automatically included in the amount to pay.) 8. Enter the building and do not ask any questions to the security guards. Do not provide any un-necessary information or draw un-needed attention to yourself. Take the elevator to the 7th floor. Come to Flat 719. You’ve arrived, and you're welcome here! IMPORTANT: Khalid Plaza is a residence building for tenants who are on a yearly lease. Flat 719 is our home. It is not a hotel. It is highly inappropriate for a visitor in our home to engage in any conversation or request any form of help from the security guards. The security guards in the lobby or at the main doors are not to be used as a local “concierge” for information regarding taxis, places to visit, or any other matter. Please do not speak to them other than a brief and courteous “hello”. Your visit to Flat 719, our home, should be a quiet one that does not draw un-necessary attention to yourself or to my family. If you can’t adhere to this simple and clear request, it’s best for you stay in a local hotel.
